Confirmation Preparation

Confirmation Preparation

Confirmation (1)“Now, when the apostles, who were in Jerusalem, had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John. Who, when they were come, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost. For he was not as yet come upon any of them: but they were only baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid their hands upon them: and they received the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 8:14-17)

“Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit – his actions, his gifs, and his biddings – in order to be more capable of assuming the apostolic responsibilities of Christian life. To this end, catechesis for Confirmation should strive to awaken a sense of belonging to the Church of Jesus Christ, the universal Church as well as the parish community. The latter bears special responsibility for the preparation of confirmands” (CCC 1309).

The two year Confirmation preparation period starts in the 7th grade. During these two years, each candidate and family have the opportunity to grow together in faith and deepen their relationship with Christ as they prepare for Confirmation. Our program is detailed for the youth who is about to grow into a fully mature adult in the Church and the parent who takes his or her role as the primary educator of the newly formed confirmandi.
