Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA)

In the month of April the Annandale Christian Community for Action (ACCA) provided $140,000 to pay for rent and utilities for our neighbors in the Annandale, Baileys, and Lincolnia areas. ACCA volunteers provided food for 65 Families last week The need for food and monetary assistance grows each week. You can help 

Clients served by ACCA are screened and referred by the Fairfax County Department of Social Services

Services provided include:

  • Food deliveries – Volunteers deliver food from ACCA pantry to hungry families.
  • Family Assistance – Families may get monetary assistance in paying for rent, utilities, medicine, and gasoline.
  • Furniture – ACCA picks up donated furniture and delivers furniture to clients who don’t have any furniture.
  • Meals-On-Wheels – ACCA participates in MOW where daily meals are delivered to shut-ins.
  • Transportation – ACCA volunteers take clients to medical appointments.

For Immediate Sympathetic Help (FISH)

Clients served by Fairfax FISH are screened and referred by the Fairfax County Department of Social Services.

Services provided include:

  • Food Deliveries – Volunteers deliver food from FISH pantry to hungry families.
  • Clothing– FISH operates a “Clothing Closet” where clothes may be donated and are given away for free. Clients come to the store when they are in need.
  • Meals-on-Wheels – FISH participates in MOW where daily meals are delivered to shut-ins.
  • Transportation – FISH volunteers take clients to medical appointments.

 Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO)

ECHO distributes donated clothing, school supplies and household items.  We offer food and financial assistance in emergencies. Counselors provide emotional support and referrals for other services.  We oversee large holiday food basket and gift programs.

ECHO serves needy people who reside in our service area and does not discriminate based on race, creed, color or any other personal characteristic.

ECHO boundaries include the entire area covered by these Springfield ZIP codes: 22151, 22152, 22153, and 22015 (Burke). We also serve parts of the following ZIP codes: 22150 (Springfield), 22312 (Alexandria).

A person seeking assistance should call 703-569-9160 between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm on a weekday (except federal holidays) or between 7:00 and 9:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He or she should be able to give their home address, briefly describe their need, and make an appointment to come to ECHO at 7205 Old Keene Mill Road for an interview during the hours described above.
