Holy Spirit Women’s Council

The Holy Spirit Women’s Council’s mission is developed from the National Council of Catholic Women, which “acts through its members to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service.”

We are an informal group which includes all women of the parish who are 18 years and older.

We stay very busy having fun, praying, working, and serving together.

  • We pay no dues and have no monthly meetings
  • Our goal is to grow spiritually
  • Make friends
  • And serve our Parish and community

Upcoming Events:

Come join us for the next First Friday Coffee on Friday, May 3, after the 9:00 AM Mass in McGivney Hall. We always enjoy your greeting the friendly faces who join us for beverages, home baked goodies, and companionship.

As you know, Deacon Malcolm will lead the HSWC on a tour of the Holy Spirit Sacristy on April 20. Currently the two time slots are filled, but if you have an interest, you can call Debbie Merrill or Candie Poumade and get your name on the list in case there is a cancellation. We plan to hold this event again next year because the interest was high. This is open to our women and men.

And our last event of the year will be the HSWC Spring Brunch to be held on Saturday, June 8, 11:30 – 1:30 in McGivney Hall. There will be a very short business meeting during dessert. And there will be lovely door prizes to take home. We hope to see many of our long-standing members along with many of our new members who joined us this year. The HSWC will provide chicken salad and beverages. Plan to bring a complimentary dish to share, or a dessert. Watch your email for more details from Patti Harger, HSWC president.

Members of the Holy Spirit Women’s Group were your servers at  Friday Night Soup & Pasta Supper this past Friday, February 23. The photos attest to the enjoyment we have working & serving together. At last count, 191 people were served their selection of soup or pasta, of which there were many great selections, accompanied by potatoes, breads, salads, desserts and drinks. And God bless those who contributed to make this event a success. All proceeds will be used to send our Youth to the Work Camp this summer. 

Women of Holy Spirit enjoying coming together in community with one another, sharing camaraderie and coffee. Next 1st Friday Coffee will be April 5. Hope to see many of you there. 

Volunteer opportunities: Do you have a desire to serve your parish? Here are a couple of opportunities:

  • Housekeeping of the sacristy and elsewhere as needed.
  • Laundering the altar linens.

And there is always a need for others who wish to be readers at the weekend masses, and/or also serve as eucharistic ministers. If you feel called to serve in this way, please call or email Patty Tang. Her name and numbers are listed in the bulletin.
