Confirmation Registration Form
Confirmation at Holy Spirit is a two year program that begins in the 6th grade. Children are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation during the autumn of their 8th grade year.
Children are prepared to receive these sacraments through three different formation methods. See below for to find out which applies to your child:
- Children who are enrolled in public schools should enroll in Religious Education classes
- Children who are enrolled in Holy Spirit School (or any other Catholic school) will complete their religious education in school
- If your child is enrolled in another Catholic school – please notify the Religious Education Office so we are aware.
- Children who are homeschooled complete their religious education at home
If your child is older than 8th grade, please contact the Office of Religious Education as soon as possible so we can help you. Confirmation is too precious to be missed!
Important Dates
Confirmation Information (Grade 7 for 2025-2026 school year)
- March 31, 2026 – Information form and certificates due.
- Complete the Confirmation Information Form
- Baptism certificates – If your child was baptized at another parish (not Holy Spirit), please submit your child’s baptism certificate to Mayra Saunders, RE Office Manager, by email to [email protected] by December 31, 2025.
- Confirmation Retreat – October TBA, 2026 from 9:00am-4:00pm
- Confirmation Rehearsal – TBA Autumn 2026 at 6:00pm
- Confirmation Mass – TBA Autumn 2026
Confirmation Information (Grade 8 for 2025-2026 school year)
- Confirmation Retreat – October 23, 2025 at Holy Spirit, 9:00am-3:00pm for Holy Spirit School students
- Confirmation Retreat – October 25, 2025 at Holy Spirit, 9:00am-4:00pm for Religious Education & Homeschool students
- Confirmation Rehearsal – October 28, 2025 at 6:00pm
- Confirmation – October 30, 2025 at 5:30pm
Confirmation Retreat Permission Form (Non-Holy Spirit Students)
We welcome students from other parishes who are unable to attend their Confirmation retreat to attend the retreat here on October 25, 2025 (9:00am-4:00pm). Parents please complete the retreat permission form necessary for your child to attend. We will notify your parish DRE of your child’s attendance once the retreat is complete. We may require a pre-retreat meeting with your child to go over any retreat details, safety rules, and conduct expectations.
Additional Confirmation Information
Sponsor & Saint – If you have not yet, please start thinking about who your sponsor will be and who your Confirmation saint will be. According the the Catholic Church, the sponsor must be a practicing Catholic (Baptized, Confirmed, and receives Holy Communion), at least 16 years old, and not the parent of the person to be Confirmed.
Dress Code – In order to conform with the solemnity and dignity of the Bishop’s visit and the dignity of the sacrament being given, the children to be Confirmed will observe the following dress code.
- For boys – Slacks, shirt and tie, dark formal shoes and dark socks (jacket optional). All clothing should be clean, neat, and fitted.
- For girls – Dress or skirt with an appropriate top, formal shoes. No flip flops/sandals or other casual type shoes. All clothing should be modest. Modest means no sleeveless or backless tops—the front of the dress or top should not be lower than three fingers from the collar bone. The length of the dress or skirt may allow for visible knees but not thighs.
- For both – Clothing should be appropriate for the Mass, not contain any images (especially images contrary to the Catholic faith), and not gender obfuscating.
