Holy Spirit Women’s Bible Study invites all women to study the Gospel of Luke
Have you ever studied an entire Gospel in depth?
Join us as we uncover the treasures of the Bible and our Catholic faith in our fall study of the Gospel of Matthew. Ascension Press’ Luke: The Story of Salvation Fulfilled program will help us come to better know, love, and serve God through small group studies.
What will we be studying?
Luke: The Story of Salvation Fulfilled is an eight-week study from Ascension Press which features weekly video lessons from Catholic Scripture expert Jeff Cavins and Dr. Jeffrey Morrow, plus a workbook. In this study, you will witness key moments in salvation history including the Annunciation, the Nativity, his public ministry, and Jesus’ suffering, death, and glorious Resurrection. There are parables found only in Luke, including the Prodigal Son, the Good Samaritan, and the rich man and Lazarus which will show you the mercy and compassion that Jesus has for each one of his children.
During the first week of November, we will begin an eight-week study of Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother. Filmed on location in the Holy Land with Dr. Edward Sri. This study reveals Mary’s unique role in God’s kingdom and our lives.
During the last week of February, we will begin a five-week study of No Greater Love, which was filmed on location in the Holy Land with Dr. Edward Sri. Walk step-by-step with Jesus during Holy Week from the Garden of Gethsemane to Mount Calvary.
You are welcome to sign up for one, two, or all of these studies.
When do we meet?
Weekly meetings begin in September in McGivney Hall.
- Wednesday Morning Study Group starts September 3, 9:45-11:15 am
- Thursday Evening Study Group starts September 4, 7-8:30 pm
- A virtual group study may also be available based on interest.
How do I sign up?
You can register here! The cost is $25 for one year, 2025-2026. Use the webpage link to order your copy of the Ascension Press workbook. Digital access to the videos for your personal use is optional.
If the cost of registration or the workbook presents a difficulty for you, scholarship options are available. Just ask.

About Us
The women of the Holy Spirit Parish Women’s Bible Study invite YOU to join us as we draw closer to God through Scripture, service of others, and spending time together.
Starting in 2018, our group used – and loved – the Walking with Purpose program for Catholic women. Having completed most of their studies, we decided in 2024 to explore the Bible through materials offered by Ascension Press and became the Women’s Bible Study.
From 2018 to the present, almost 200 women have joined us as we grow in our faith together.
This year, we will be offering talks, activities, and social events for all female members – past, present, and future – from April through August. Starting in September, we will resume our program of Bible studies and learn about the Gospel of Luke, our Lady’s role in God’s Kingdom (during Advent), and our Lord’s Passion (during Lent).
