Middle School Youth Ministry

TFullSizeRenderhe Middle School Youth Ministry (MSYM) program is open to all 6th – 8th graders, in our parish and beyond.  We are dedicated to developing well-rounded Christian youths through spiritual growth, fellowship,  service to the community and lots of fun!  Our goal is to provide the youth of our parish community with a spiritual and social environment that adheres to the mission of our group, taking responsibility for Catholic moral values and a loving respect for the right of all persons as taught by Jesus.

Diving into the pool this summer? Dive into your faith too! Join us for our Summer Bible Study, led by Fr. O’ Donohue, as we take a journey through Heaven. All we need is you and your permission form!

MSYM Meetings:   We meet twice a month on Friday evenings from 7:30pm – 9:30pm, beginning in the Youth Room and gym, then playing a massive game of Manhunt before finishing up with pizza and drinks in the cafeteria.  Dismissal is via a carpool line in the front of the school.

Parent chaperones are needed for every youth meeting.  With more than 100 youth on Friday nights, we need at least 13 chaperones so please sign up for at Sign Up Now!least one meeting a year.  Chaperones MUST be compliant with the Child Protection Policy of the Diocese of Arlington, please ask me for a packet to get this process started!

We also plan a special “adventure” a few times a year (zip line/ropes course, corn maze, canoeing, rock climbing, apple picking, etc).


Boot Camp for Aspiring Saints is our big summer activity – it is a week of awesome fun and service.  Click on the Boot Camp tab on the right to find out all you need to know and to register.




8th Grade Lunches take place once a month. We invite all 8th grade youth to the Youth Room for a lunch we bring in from some of their favorite eateries (Chipotle, Panera, Five Guys). There is no cost for this lunch and we invite any non-Holy Spirit 8th graders to join us if they are able.  Just send us a quick RSVP email a day or so before so we order enough food.


logoCor Unum – Small Groups for Guys and Girls  Forming today’s young hearts in the faith.  All 7th and 8th graders are encouraged to join our single sex discussion groups.  The groups meet after school – all on the same days we have youth group meetings.
