Conquer Teens for Christ

Mission Statement:

Conquer Teens for Christ is a person-centered mission that unites our youth’s experience in Youth Ministry and Religious Education to deepen the youth’s connection to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission aims to build greater community among the youth by valuing each person over the individual programs. Our Conquer Teens for Christ adult volunteer team is emboldened to invest their time and talent into the lives of our youth.

Conquer Team Member Description:

Conquer Teens for Christ Team Members are committed adult volunteers who have a passion for serving our youth. They are dedicated members of our parish who choose an area where their particular talent can best serve our youth. By committing to an area to serve (small group, food, large group, events, etc), the adult volunteers use their individual gifts to also form relationships with our youth after the model of Jesus Christ (John 15:15). This is as simple as knowing their names and greeting them as we serve them (John 10:3), but also looking for opportunities to go out and find them (Luke 15:4).  By choosing a secondary activity to serve our youth, through the simple ministry of presence that causes the youth to say “I see you everywhere”, we not only model the friendship of Jesus Christ to them, but we also model the Holy Spirit who is “present in all places and filling all things”.

High School CCD Volunteer

Sundays 4:30-5:45 p.m. beginning September 15

Our high school class is composed of those in grades 9-12. In high school CCD, we focus on putting the person of the youth into relationship with the person of Jesus Christ. In the words of Pope St. John Paul II – “In the first place, it is intended to stress that at the heart of catechesis we find, in essence, a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth.” Our primary aim is to introduce the high school youth to the “mystery of Jesus Christ” through a systematic study of the Gospel of St. Luke. This class is a directed reading of St. Luke, with insights from the Popes and other spiritual writers. The high school catechists lead the youth to become Biblically literate as they learn about the one who loves them so that they can love Him in return. This class will focus on knowing the essentials of the Gospel story – the “who, what, where, and why” of each chapter. Through coordination with the adult volunteers in youth ministry, the youth in high school CCD will have a firm foundation for going deeper into the meaning of the Gospel in their lives during the Sunday Night large group, and midweek small group (FIAT & BOB). Working together, we can Conquer Teens for Christ

Prayer Team Volunteer

Support our mission through prayer

There are many gifts from God (1 Cor 12:4-5) and therefore many ways to support our mission. Not everyone has the gift of working with youth (Eph 4:11-12) but have instead been called to be “prayer warriors”. As Jesus prayed to the Father in Heaven to send the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles (John 14:16), therefore we are looking for prayer warriors to follow the example of Our Lord and pray for the youth and the adult volunteers (apostles in our parish) on their own time as they work to Conquer Teens for Christ.

  • Primary Leader Description:
    • Intentionally pray for our youth on your own time and encourage other members of the prayer team to do the same.

    • Coordinate with other adult volunteers of Conquer by using email, meetings, and after Mass socializing
  • Secondary Leader Description:
    • Commit to being a Prayer Warrior: one who makes prayer a part of daily life
    • Commit to being a Prayer Warrior: one who fights with the angelic army for the youth and adult volunteers to Conquer Teens for Christ
    • Join the Prayer Team Leader in recommended prayers
    • Pray for the youth by name: asking their guardian angel, Confirmation saint, and the Blessed Mother to intercede for them.
    • Coordinate with other adult volunteers of Conquer by using email, meetings, and after Mass socializing
